Clinical Calculators

Four evidence-based tools built on validated, peer-reviewed models. Enter your values, get a plain-language interpretation, and see the research that backs it.

Enter your lab values

Use your most recent fasting labs. We support both US and SI units where relevant.

Read the interpretation

Each calculator returns a tier (Optimal, Borderline, High) plus a paragraph explaining what the number actually means.

Bring it to a clinician

These are decision-support tools, not diagnoses. Bring your results to your Asymmetric Health evaluation and we'll build a plan around them.

A number is a starting point, not a plan.

A calculator tells you where you are. A full cardiometabolic workup with an Asymmetric Health clinician tells you what to do about it, in the order that matters.

About these calculators

Are these calculators a substitute for blood work or a clinician?

No. These are decision-support tools. They can tell you whether a number or a symptom pattern warrants a deeper look, but they do not diagnose, prescribe, or replace a real evaluation. Bring your results to a clinician who can contextualize them against your full history and labs.

Where do the formulas come from?

Every calculator cites its primary source. HOMA-IR uses the original Matthews 1985 homeostatic model. The MESA CHD calculator uses the McClelland 2015 equations with the Blaha 2021 coronary-age derivation. The 30-year CVD calculator uses the Pencina 2009 Framingham extension. The statin calculator uses meta-analysis averages from Sattar 2010, Carter 2013, and the 2024 Lancet CTT analysis.

Why do the thresholds differ from my doctor's?

Some of these calculators (HOMA-IR in particular) apply functional-medicine thresholds calibrated toward metabolic optimization, not just diabetes diagnosis. Conventional medicine often waits until a number is frankly abnormal. Functional medicine looks at the trajectory. Both are valid. We show both where they differ.

Is my data saved?

No. Values you enter are processed entirely in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers. If you request a PDF report, your email is collected by our form partner so we can send the report and (with consent) occasional clinical insights.

Can I use these as a clinician?

Yes. These tools are built to clinical decision-support standards with full citations, physiologic input bounds, and tier thresholds. If you'd like to embed one on your own site or add a calculator we haven't built yet, get in touch.
